Morning roses

Sunday morning in October.  The rosebuds freshly watered and freed from life sucking aphids.  More work to be done in the garden this morning.  The overcast sky will bring more rain, I hope.  After a substantial breakfast of freshly picked broadbeans sauteed in butter, on multigrain toast, I am ready to feed to roses.  The roses are sending out buds and they must be fed.  Feeding plants is not the most inspiring of gardening but it must be done.  With the ground wet after the early morning watering I can spread the granules around the plants and then more mulch on top.  The welcoming rose arbour is a bit lopsided with one side covered in full blown blooms and the other still waiting for the buds to unfurl.
